endgame for 1.5

We're just about a day and a half away from the codefreeze for Firefox 1.5 RC-1. We've only got a couple of remaining bugs so we're still on track.

The current schedule has the code freeze on Sunday night at midnight and then we've got a few days of testing and build and release work to get done so that we can ship the RC on Friday.

I'm running the nightlies and having no problems EXCEPT lack of updated extensions.

Please tell me we are not going to experience a substantial lag between release date and seemingly sleepy extension developers waking up?

Asa, can you link to the bug fixes for 1.5rc I want to see if my bug was fixed.

Newsflash: W3schools just published the october stats.

Firefox went from 18.0% in september to 18.8% in october. Most of this came straight from MSIE's market share. Opera gained slightly.

Disclaimer: Of course, W3schools is a site aimed at professionals and does not represent the entire user population, all statistics suck, yadda, yadda, etc.

I'm really suprised the patch for this bug didn't land. I've seen a few poeple in the forums suffering from the issue the patch addresses.

URGENT?

Perpetual update bug in 1.5?

After installing the 'select update channel' extension since the day it was first mentioned in these forums I didn't have a problem until yesterday. I successfully incrementally installed every nightly update until the 20th. Then for some reason although Burning Edge said there was a 22nd nightly and and 21st nightly, I could not download it.

Now I have gone to update and I am set in a perpetual update mode.

Anyone else experiencing a similar problem?

Dear pd,

The bug you mentioned seems to be fixed in the October 24 nightly build.

I know that this question was already asked, but what is a roadmap to make FF compliant with

Can you explain what the difference between the following branches:

1) trunk
2) trunk-fs
3) aviary1.0.1

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/

I have found stuff to be pretty broken recently, and I'm thinking maybe I'm a on a branch that's a little too cutting edge. Basically, I want all of the good stuff, but none of the bad stuff :-)

This should be the latest firefox nightly on the 1.5 build (Gecko1.8):

>1) trunk
this is the main development build, except right before a release, when it branches to stabilize.

>2) trunk-fs
this is the trunk without stuff. stuff that doesnt meet the qualification for "free software", like talkback.

>3) aviary1.0.1
as the name suggests, this the old branch for 1.0.x releases. basically, testing this is useless, cause theres no active development here.

>Basically, I want all of the good stuff, but none of the bad stuff :-)
i think everyone else is the same way. and that build doesn't exist yet.
