time for another developer interview

It's been a while since my last developer interview (Mike Shaver, in May.) These developer intervies work like this. First, you all tell me who you want to hear from. Then I beg that developer to agree ;-) Then I solicit questions from you all and pass those on to the developer. Eventually, I post the results here.

OK. So who do you all want to heare from?

reactions, thoughts, comments, etc.

It would be nice to have an interview with a dev on the Sunbird team. I see a great potential from Sunbird in the future so yeah, a Sunbird developer!

Darin Fisher

How about Blake Ross? :P
or Brendan Eich?
or Ben Goodger?

Boris Zbarsky or Brendan Eich. :-)

Anyone from the SVG team. ;-)

I would have to say Ben Goodger or Darin Fisher

David Baron, ask him how his Reflow branch is going :)

I am particularly interested in knowing what new CSS stuff is going to be implemented in 1.5, I saw that some new pseudo-classes where added recently. Text-shadow would be great for 1.5 since it would be a very visible improvement to web pages (and therefore something that end-users can see).

Boris.

I'd like have an interview with Vladimir Vukićević. I'm interested to hear more about how he sees the future of bookmarks.

@pascal: text-shadow is coming for 2.0.

Someone from Sunbird team...please...:)

Josh Aas :)

Whomever is in charge of addons.mozilla.org and its redevelopment.

Boris Zbarsky

Lead dev of the Sunbird team!

Boris (although someone else from "layout" would be fine, too, if any of them can spare the time! Seems like they all fix bugs 36 hours a day....)

Boris He rocks !

David Baron

BZ please.

David Baron (reflow), Boris Zbarsky (layout and everything), Benjamin Smedbergs (xulrunner) or Vladimir Vukićević (Thebes). Any of those would be fantastic :) Actually, an interview with anyone who works at MoCo would be great.

I would love to hear from Scott MacGregor or David Bienvenu. We don't hear that much from either of those guys.

Definately someone from the Sunbird team. :) I'm waiting for the day I can finally replace Outlook. I would have switched to Evolution by now, but AFAIK it's not available for Windows.

Brendan Eich on the standardisation work and future directions of ECMAScript.
It would also be interesting with someone working on security.

+1 BZ

I join my voice to those who want to hear from somebody from the sunbird team. Otherwise, I'd also be interested in the future of bookmarks or the future of search. I've heard there will be some developpment in these areas.

I would like to hear someone from the Sunbird team

It is spelled hear not heare

Interview jminta or mvl from Sunbird!

bz

David Baron. :)

Agreed, I think this should be interesting.
Someone in charge of addons.mozilla.org or the main extensions area of firefox/thunderbird.

I'd be interested in any of the "unsung heroes" who work on Gecko. BZ, David Baron, Johnny Stenbeck, Christien Biesinger, etc. The people I see doing tons of work in Bugzilla but do not get recognition because most of their efforts are transparent to the average user.

bz and dbaron
Or biesi, neil, timeless, ... any other of the backend developers you don't hear from/about very often.

bz bz bz

Boris would be really interesting. The one who never sleeps ;)

Boris Zbarsky.

Since there are so many fundamental changes to Gecko going on in the 1.9a timeframe, I'd like to hear from a Gecko developer, preferrably BZ. He's very knowledgeable and frank, but unfortunately we don't get to hear from him often. I'd rather not spend this interview on a Sunbird developer, as the last developer interview was on Lightning.

Boris Zbarsky.

couple of suggestions:
MVL obviously lead of sunbird doesnt get/use any facetime, no blog nothing, would love to hear something from him.

Second suggestion:
Triston the MozEuro guy and now on the board. Would love to hear from him regarding the otherside of the pond dealings/state of the board.

The head honcho herself
The Chief Lizard wrangler, fell silent months ago after announcement of MoCo I would love to hear whats going on with her.

Another vote for Boris Zbarsky or someone else who is working on Gecko

BZ or DBaron

I'd like to throw in Mike Schroepfer, as he has a prominent role while being a newcomer to the Mozilla community.

Another vote for BZ

Boris Zbarsky!

dbaron or bzbarsky!

bz: and the thing I want to know is how many hours does he sleep, since it appears he never does.

Christopher Aillon.
