movable type local improvements

In an effort to curb some of the comment spam, I've asked my gracious hosts (kerz) to install the MtCloseComments plugin for the Mozillazine-hosted weblogs. It was recommended by shaver this evening on IRC.

Kerz rocks, so we now have what I hope will be a solid tool for fighting spam in the mz blogs.

Most of my comment spam comes into posts that are older than about a week and haven't had any recent activity. This plugin allows me to specify and age and days without activity number and it will automatically close posts to comments.

I've started out with age>10 inactive>4 so posts are going to get closed pretty quickly if they aren't active.

If you're trying to comment to a closed post, I recommend either posting in your blog and trackbacking me or sending me an email.

My goal here is to spend less time cleaning out spam and more time writing informative blog posts. I'm more than happy to adjust the settings to give more time if people think that's a good idea. Let's see how it goes.
