I just ran across this YahooPOPs! project at sourceforge and it sounds pretty cool. It claims to work with Mozilla mail. Have any of you tried it?

heh... I have seen stuff like this for a while, but in the end, I just shelled out that *whopping* $25 per **year** and have had 100% working email for a year now. Some services are just worth paying for, IMHO. ;)
Actually, yes, it DOES work with Mozilla. You just set your mailserver name as "localhost" instead of "mail.myISP.com" or whatever your mailserver is. There's a similar one to Hotmail as well, I'll let you know if I remember the URL...
There's a Hotmail one for Unix-based OSes at http://hotwayd.sourceforge.net/ - it claims Mozilla Mail compatibility through all versions.
Hotmail Popper (http://www.boolean.ca/hotpop/) provides POP access to Hotmail. Works great in Mozilla 1.3.

By default YahooPOPs! and Hotmail Popper both use port 110 on localhost. You'll have to change one of them to another port to be able to run them both.
YahooPOPs: Configure->Advanced Preferences->Network->POP3 Port
Hotmail Popper: Options->Port.
You'll also have to change this in Mozilla:
Edt->Mail and Newsgroups Account Settings->"account name"->Server Settings->Port.
Definitally works great, been using it for a long time now (since yahoo required $$ for pop access).
Glad to see you have come across it!
I've been using YahooPOPs for awhile. Retrieval part works really well. The app neatly integrates yahoo mail from multiple accounts into Mozilla mail along with my other addresses. What's important, the project is active (at least on the windows side). So, whenever yahoo changes their design, problems get fixed fairly soon.
