It never goes as smooth as you'd like it to go. Last week Jesse found a security hole in Mozilla. We were ready with a fix and I was ready to release when Georgi found a variant on the same exploit. Then Jesse found another variant and we had to move from patching the holes to building a new wall. Thanks for all the late nights and hard work from John, jst and others.
It looks like we're finally there and testing has proved the fix to work and nothing we have tested shows any regressions. If all goes well (heh) then we should have 1.1 wrapped up on Monday or Tuesday and I can finally catch up with the trunk.
We're about two weeks from 1.2alpha and we've got some serious stability issues (from what I hear). I'm excited about some of the big fixes that have landed since 1.1 (especially the 10% pageload perf gain) and if we can get a handle on the stability issues then 1.2alpha should prove to be a solid step forward.
