I finally took a look at mpt's top 10 usability problems with Mozilla. It started off with a few interesting points but then this self-proclaimed usability weenie makes the claim that a major usability problem with the Mozilla browser is that it lacks UI for Web page validation notification, or something.
WTF!? How can anyone take this guy seriously when he places the lack of UI for page content validation on a _usability_ problems list. Can someone please explain to me how a smiley or some other such notification for content validation makes the Mozilla browser more usable? What I find most absurd is that he places this higher on his list of usability problems than something as basic as installation of plugins. And he claims regularly to be more in touch with average users than pretty much anyone else working on this project. Average users really want a validation notification more than they want flash to just work? No wonder people have such a hard time taking his suggestions seriously.
