firefox quicksearch for del.icio.us users

If you're a del.icio.us user, and you're not already using Firefox's very cool quicksearch feature for fast access to del.icio.us bookmarks, head over to dmiessler.com for a couple of cool tips.

update: Reports have come in that this isn't working. it would be great if one of you all could look into this and see if you can get it working!

I created the following keyword bookmarks:

d http://del.icio.us/jesser
dz http://del.icio.us/jesser/%s
dt http://del.icio.us/tag/%s

'dt foo bar' doesn't work because Firefox escapes spaces as %20 rather than +. Use 'dt foo+bar' instead.

It works better to create these from scratch than using the forms on del.icio.us. If you use the form on del.icio.us/jesser/, you'll get a slow full-text search rather than a fast tag search. If you use the form on http://del.icio.us/tag/, you'll get a slower POST form, that redirects to the correct URL.

I didn't have any luck with this either, but I did find a pair of search engine plugins that seem to work well, one for "my" bookmarks (that really is an awkward construction) and one for general tags. For those following along, click on the icon in the toolbar search and select "Add Engines..." or go straight to http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html
