n 63a, firefox in the lmc

Don't miss today's APOD. One of these days we need to petition to get one of these beautiful supernova remnants named "Firefox". You can find the full res version at the HubbleSite. Wallpaper versions and full caption are available here

neat, it does.
if you need help seeing it, with the picture oriented as is, the fox's ears point to 8 o'clock, and his mouth(which is open) points to 5 o'clock. he looks like he's sitting down with the whole right half of the "fireball" being a big bushy taily curled around beside him.

This has to be one of the most beautiful images I've seen from HST.Does anyone know how recently it went nova? It doesn't look too old... Also to me it looks like a fox having it's wicked way with a lobster... I think I need some sleep....!
