New builds available at
We missed one small checkin last night so the security hole wasn't completely closed off. Now it should be. These builds are otherwise identical to those from last night but we could use your help making sure no little gremlins crept into the build machines and fiddled with our chips :-) If you see anything odd in these builds, please let me know ASAP. Thanks.
update: If you want to give direct feedback, I'll be on irc.mozilla.org #104qa
Posted by asa at May 11, 2005 02:59 PMAny idea why Firefox 1.0.4 has already turned up on version tracker?
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/28532
Probably because of the various news sites jumping the gun and posting links to nightlies, claiming that they're 1.0.4 release builds.
Posted by: sp on May 11, 2005 03:41 PMOnce again, all works fine! all themes + extensions (Adblock / Add Bookmark Here / CuteMenus / Download Manager Tweak / Paste and Go / Translation Panel / Tabbrowser Preferences / Local Install / ColorZilla / Web Developper / Focus Last Selected Tab)
Posted by: Darken on May 11, 2005 04:20 PMI had to uninstall and then re-install my extensions to get them to work (Adblock-latest version, Google Images Re-Linker 0.1.2, Bookmark Backup 0.3.3)
Posted by: dan on May 11, 2005 05:16 PMi put the hammer down. no longer on version tracker.
Firefox 1.0.3 is there now.
dan: can you give us more specifics regarding what OS you are running?
Posted by: marcia on May 11, 2005 05:19 PMI can't wait for all the people new to Firefox that are using the 1.0.4 nightly builds to complain and run back to IE .. either that or find some forum to complain their collective butts off
Posted by: John Blanton on May 11, 2005 05:33 PMI'm running Windows XP Home SP2. My extensions worked fine in the 1.0.3 build, but when upgraded to the 1.0.4 build they stopped working. I am now using the latest 1.0.4 build from Asa's blog and after I re-installed my extensions, they work correctly again.
Let me know if you need more info.
Posted by: dan on May 11, 2005 05:39 PMseems to work fine
Posted by: ameyer17 on May 11, 2005 06:34 PMany combination of firefox 1.0.4, adblock, forecastfox and cookieculler drags cpu usage up to 100% until firefox.exe is killed. the problem extension seems to be forecastfox, and no amount of reinstalling or virgin profiles fixes the situation.
Posted by: dave on May 11, 2005 08:30 PMI was using 1.0 until my hard drive crashed. I don't know why. But when I reinstalled windows 98 Firefox refused to work until I installed last night's build. I'm posting this under that while accessing a memory-hog free email site in another tab. This is great.

Posted by: FirefoxFly on May 12, 2005 01:54 AMHad adblock installed under nightly. Installed 104 got screen with no homepage and none of the buttons worked. Only X worked. Same in safe mode. Still seems to be the way when I remove adblock.

Posted by: Rob on May 12, 2005 06:12 AMToday downloaded http://mozilla.osuosl.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2005-05-11-13-aviary1.0.1/firefox-1.0.4.en-US.win32.installer.exe
and installed it on a Windows 98 SE PC IBM 365 with a Pentium Pro and 128 Mb ECC memory.
Everything went smoothly and the browser is working properly.
