mozillazine's feedhouse

I've been poking my head into feedhouse since I got a comment (or email, can't remember) and it appears that the emailer was right and my prolific posting is sort of overwhelming that page.

I'd rather not change my posting habits so I've asked Kerz to remove me from the feedhouse aggregator. If you read me there and you'd like to continue reading me, I suggest you grab my feed (over there on the left) or bookmark this page because it's gonna be gone from feedhouse shortly.

Can't people talk and colaborate? There's no 1 source that has everyone. So to read it all, you need to hit all 3 of them.

IMHO 3 admin's need to sit down and talk.

Can you not just limit how much of each post gets syndicated? To, say, the first two hundred words or so?

Plus, I refuse to come to your actual blog, because my eyes would explode from the colors. So feedhouse is the only place I read you...

I agree with what Charles said above. If you're NOT on the MZ feedlist...you'll be missed. Just put a word limit, and let interested folks folow to the bigger blog. Other folks' blogs appear to do that. Let's find out how!

Asa, I'm the one that pointed it out last week, and I assumed the solution would be to do exactly what Charles Melhorn advised above - there should be an easy way to just limit how much of each post gets syndicated.

My intention most certainly wasn't for you to withdraw from the feedhouse altogether, and if that is the end result, I'm sorry I brought it up in the first place! Your posts are much too valuable to not appear there at all.

Keep posting man! Bloglines is keeping me up with you quite nicely.

I really hope you do not pull out of feedhouse.
Any one of these would solve the 'problem'
- use a category (asa)
- limit #words in feedhouse (kerz)
- ignore the whiners (asa)

Any chance you can seperate your postings into 2 different RSS feeds? Mark certain ones for inclusion in feedhouse, others not. I don't know what blog software you're using at mozillaZine, but if it's home-grown, that shouldn't be that hard to hack in.

The odd thing I have noticed is that you are not on planet.mozilla.org either. Was that a conscious choice too?

no please do not take yourself out of the feedhouse. That place needs all your postings, the others dont make enough posts for us to figure out whats going on a day to day basis.

Count me in as another "please don't leave feedhouse" voter ;)

I will read your blog directly if you do, but you certainly add a lot of interesting and relevant Mozilla content to the page.

I'll chip in on the 'don't leave feedhouse', at least not for that reason. (As I understand it it's the length of your posts, right?)
