mitchell's new year

Mitchell Baker, our fearless leader, has just blogged her new year's resolutions. Trampoline sounds like great fun and if I get into a little better shape, I might just give that a shot myself. Blogging, I've started to get the hang of that ;-)

Like Mitchell, I also decided recently that I'd like to post more regularly about what I do at the Mozilla Foundation. I tried to get that going with the many updates on the status of the 1.8 Alpha 6 release and then the big post with answers to your questions about the Mozilla release processes. That one came out about 5,000 words so it kinda took the steam out of my work-related posts but I'll be back at it again in the next couple of days.

Also, I'm going to try to ramp up the semi-regular Ask Asa installments but hopefully get them a bit more focused on specific areas where I think my answers might actually be interesting to you all :-) -- sort of like the release questions, but hopefully not quite so many.

Anyway, I think that blogs will become a more valuable Mozilla tool as more of us use them to talk about what we're up to. We're a very large community and more communication can only be a good thing.

Thanks again! for your efforts on making blog posts Asa, your 5,000 word post was probably a real drain, but it provided many of us info on the Mozilla release process that we never would have gotten. And Mitchell even mentions that she is using you for inspiration in her own blogging goals.

Usually each time I read a in-depth work-related blog from you, it inspires me to put a little more effort into helping promote Mozilla's vision and purpose, as well as the more immediate benifit of providing a nice simple link response to those who don't read these blogs regularly, but have questions.

Keep up the good work!
