If you're looking for Firefox extensions, try the Extension Mirror (link fixed) where you can find nearly 500 Firefox extensions just waiting to make your browsing experience even better.
If you've just tried out the brand new Thunderbird 1.0, try one of the nearly 100 Thunderbird extensions at the Extension Mirror. Good stuff.
Posted by asa at December 9, 2004 07:31 PMThe fact that you're even posting this shows how badly u.m.o needs a complete revamp. It's next to useless the way it is. No search feature, horrible interface, outdated extensions (because the dev cpanel isn't active), and a poor comments and rating system. It's one big cry for help!
Posted by: Seth Kinast on December 9, 2004 08:19 PMWas that a link to the extension mirror or to the Thunderbird releases? I'm confused...
Posted by: Samuel Sidler on December 9, 2004 08:42 PMI think Asa goofed. The Extensions mirror url is here:
http://www.extensionsmirror.nl
Also, Seth, u.m.o is being worked on. Check out update-beta.mozilla.org for a preview. There are open bugs for it and everything. It'll get there.
Posted by: pepp5 on December 9, 2004 08:57 PMOh goodness Pepp, why was I not notified immediately of this? :p My faith in u.m.o is restored.
Posted by: Seth Kinast on December 9, 2004 10:37 PMHuh? Nearly 100 Tb extensions there and far less on update.mozilla.org?
How can that be?
Posted by: Jugalator on December 9, 2004 11:50 PMu.m.o beta is looking great!
Posted by: Adrian on December 10, 2004 01:56 AMBut are there any *useful* T-bird extensions? I don't think so! What about some useful stuff like previewing headers only, or editing received mail items?
W.
Posted by: Wally on December 10, 2004 02:27 AMYes there are useful Tb extensions in my opinion.
The color-text-by-quote-level extension (whatever its name was) is one of them.
Hello,
Nice to see my site mentioned :D
TEM has far more extensions, because the mod team checks allot of extension sources and their are allot of extensions users announcing extensions, where UMO is only updated when a dev announce his extension. And devs tend to be a bit busy ;)
Glad you guys like my site :D
Posted by: Sboulema on December 10, 2004 03:04 AMLooks like update-beta has been updated once again!!!! It's looking good, expect it differs from the main mozilla site _again_. Asa, are there any release dates?
Posted by: Nikolai on December 10, 2004 05:45 AMVERY nice to see that u.m.o. is being worked on, the beta looks great.
u.m.o. is extremely out of date, hard to navigate, and overall a bit awful, I hate to say.
Posted by: Mike on December 10, 2004 05:46 AMI hope umo gets rid of the 50 per page limit, I want all extensions in one page dammit ;)
