Today we hit 8 million Firefox 1.0 downloads. We did that in 23 days!
Comparing with the Preview Release, it took us 54 days to hit the 8 million mark. That's more than twice the pace of downloads.
Wow!! At this rate, we'll hit our goal of ten million downloads sometime in the middle of this month. If the download rate holds steady, there's a chance that we could hit 10 million in the first month of downloads. That would be amazing!
I commented before the number was up on Spread!

Posted by: David Naylor on December 2, 2004 09:38 AMMight be sweet to see a graph of these numbers like the ones you posted for 1.0PR. I'm interested to know how many per day as well as total.
Cheers! ~ Kevin
Posted by: KevinFreitas on December 2, 2004 09:59 AMCongratulations!
I agree - a graph of some kind would be great, one with the PR figures too would be even better.
Great news. I surely wish there were 80 million downloads. Someday.
BTW, is there a good place to ask for a new extension? I poked around the site and couldn't find a suitable place.

I'm not really sure whether the Titan-like outlining of text should be used for every 'image', or in this case, every number you post in your blog... :-)
I like the eight million downloads though!
Posted by: Michaël on December 2, 2004 12:28 PMOkie everyone, let head to spreadfirefox and download AGAIN ;). break 10millions in 1st month would generate some more publicity from news.com and stuff

With Titan and with the Thunderbird logo, you had a circle, which made the text follow a nice curve. Also, in the case of the 8,000,000, there is only *one* line of text that is different because of the image, and that makes that the relation between the text flow and the image is not very clear... but I guess this is something people could disagree about.
Hey, Spread Firefox is the top Google result for "spread" - well done.
