what a day

I feel like I should post something profound but I'm just exhausted and don't have it in me. I suppose I should have prepared something ahead of time for this blog post but making Firefox better took precedence.

Thanks, definitely, to everyone who helped make this release happen. We're all very proud of it and we hope you enjoy it.

Congrats and get some rest, Asa! (The problem I talked about in the last comments has, from all I can see so far, been solved in RC2 and I just now got 1.0. So I am one happy camper.) Kudos and cheers and hip hip hooray to you and everyone else who worked so hard to make this possible!

Woohoo!!!!!

You not only have made a Firefox, mozilla.org seems to be a fireserver too!

I can smell the smoke from here.

Oh god, and Slashdot hasn't even posted their more or less obligatory article yet.

This will be ugly!

Probably been mentioned elsewhere but the BBC have got in there. -

Wow, I haven't been able to access Mozilla.org or SpreadFirefox.com since this morning when I first tried (around 8am). The only way I got my hands on 1.0 final was thanks to Mozillazine which seems to be doing better than the other websites.

Showing many mirrors. Also on the main page they have a prominent "our guide to Firefox extensions" ad the news posts mentions an updated guide to Firefox in general.

What an excited day, both news.com.com and eweek.com have big headline.

I learned some tips from the new firfox start page. I added mail icon into navigation toolbar. I have Netscape 7.2 as my default mail client, but my outlook comes up when I click new message. This is really weird.

Way to go, Asa :) Its a beautiful day with a new beginning for Firefox. I'll now start my mission to have (everyday-user) converts to FF ! And I am sure you guys will keep up the great work :)

Guys, go directly through the ftp route (I presume they are load-balancing or something like that) instead of through Mozilla's startpage, if haven't been able to get in :)

Congrats too... Now, what's exactly Google's affiliation with Firefox??

Posted by: Arthur on November 9, 2004 04:12 PM

http://www.google.ca/firefox , WOW, i didn't know that..but only the start page is changed, the rest is just regular average joe google :D..

and CONGRATZ... (appx) 2 years since this day I switched to Phoenix/Firebird/Firefox (reg in MozillaZine around 26/11/2004).....What a nice anniversity present to me :D

now let's see if we can break 10mil mark in 1 week

Can anyone confirm that the proper way to check out 1.0 from CVS is this?

cvs co -r FIREFOX_0_10_RELEASE mozilla/client.mk
cvs co -r FIREFOX_0_10_RELEASE mozilla/browser/config
make -f client.mk checkout
make -f client.mk build

I'm pretty tired myself. I wanted to be up to release Portable Firefox right after Firefox 1.0. (4am Eastern time... *yawn*) I suggest we pick a mid-day release time for future releases. Sleep is good :-)

I can't wait to see how many downloads Firefox is getting. If downloads from my server of Portable Firefox are any indication, it's gonna be big! I've already pushed 6 Gigs today. I'm trying to move to mozdev as we speak so I don't have to pay bandwidth overages again, but my login isn't allowing me to upload the app itself. *sigh*

Congrats! The lucky people who havn't been using nighties even get to see changes... :p

And thanks for what you (all) have done. :D

Programmerman:
Try FIREFOX_1_0_RELEASE (see CVS graph for module.ver)
