Vfwlkr asked: Here goes: you've kept the current style on your webpage way longer than your average, when's the next update coming?
I hadn't noticed that this style was any longer lasting than the previous styles. It still feels quite new and fresh to me.
I don't have any updates planned for any time soon because I like this one and doing a new style takes some effort and doesn't have much reward.
How many of you read this page in it's HTML form as opposed to the RSS or Atom feeds? I've moved 95% of my blog reading over to Thunderbird+Forumzilla and so I don't pay nearly as much attention to page styles as I used to. If this site makes your eyes bleed (as someone commented when I first rolled out the new look) then I recommend playing around with one of the many gread feed reading solutions available.
Posted by asa at October 31, 2004 05:52 PMMyself, I've been using the Mozillazine feedhouse a lot more lately. Much better than p.m.o methinks.
Posted by: Albert on October 31, 2004 06:30 PMYay! I won! :)
Like Albert, I read mozillazine feedhouse too.
gemal.dk blogupdates is pimping!
Posted by: dat on October 31, 2004 08:47 PMI go here and to many blogs on HTML thru Firefox.. I don't care much for the RSS "feeders".. the look is a bit stale.. 8-P
Posted by: Hellsbellboy on October 31, 2004 08:55 PMHAHA it's a grassroots rss campaign... "if we can just make all the blogs ugly enough... we'll practicaly FORCE people to use RSS!!!"- "VIVA LA REVOLUCION!"
but then... I actualy like the page style :)
foiled again!

Posted by: Anders on October 31, 2004 11:07 PMI read your blog mostly via LiveJournal feed syndication. But I still look at your pages for the comments.
Posted by: michaell on November 1, 2004 01:15 AMI come here several times/day to check for new posts and kinda like your blog style (though first impression was eye-bleeing).
Posted by: Donny on November 1, 2004 01:58 AMI read almost exclusively by browsing it, the old fashioned way. :-)
I'm so annoyed by Thunderbird's lack of "column configuration by information type". So I get lots of totally irrelevant columns from e-mail reading when reading RSS with it, and lose a lots of necessary columns when reading e-mail if I fix the columns for RSS.
Posted by: Jugalator on November 1, 2004 02:09 AMPersonally I prefer to read planet.m.o, and I drop by Blogupdates too. Haven't been to Feedhouse in months.
Right now I still read blogs in their HTML form. I've been wanting to set up RSS in Thunderbird, but for whatever reason, haven't gotten around to it. I should, though.
Posted by: Ali Ebrahim on November 1, 2004 02:21 AMI only read your blog on the web and I must say the previous design was more stylish. :) Btw, where did the picture of you go? Is it still available on the web or did you remove it?
Posted by: David Tenser on November 1, 2004 03:36 AMI have your blog in my live bookmarks, so I get to read it with the beautiful style you use. The warm colors take getting used to, since most websites are either very white and plain, or are a real dark black in the background. This style on this blog is really refreshing.
Posted by: Dan McDermott on November 1, 2004 06:04 AMNow that you mention it... I think the color scheme wins the award for most irritating. It's like rubbing sand in your eyes.
And I liked the past one a lot.
Posted by: Robert Accettura on November 1, 2004 07:22 AMI don't have any updates planned for any time soon because I like this one and doing a new style takes some effort and doesn't have much reward.
I never really liked the design myself, sorry.
How many of you read this page in it's HTML form as opposed to the RSS or Atom feeds?
I use my agg to let me know when to visit sites, basically. For some sites, I never visit them and just use the agg, but most sites get a click through, espeically pretty ones.
Posted by: David Schontzler on November 1, 2004 10:26 AM> ...makes your eyes bleed...
"Makes my eyes bleed"? <puzzled look> Err... Why, no, my eyes don't have too much trouble with black on white... <mumbles "...thank gawd and Pederick there's 'Disable Page Colors' !!!" under his breath>
I guess I'm one of those who stick to old fashioned ways of visiting web pages as well. When I have time - I browse around and read blogs, when I don't - no need to clog my inboxes with cruft. Oh, and I can still remember the days when "HTML" meant "HyperTEXT <blah-blah>"...
Posted by: Linuxn00b on November 1, 2004 01:15 PMNo RSS for me. I've yet to find a reason to switch to it, or just to start using it. I'd rather come by the sites.
Everytime I try out RSS, I drop it after 2 days, max.
Posted by: Bill Mason on November 1, 2004 04:14 PMI read it standard HTML, and I like the style. It is pretty new...what, 1-2 months old? I think that guy must have some weird timeline or something.
Posted by: Yacoubean on November 1, 2004 04:28 PMI read it in the HTML, using Live Bookmarks.
Posted by: Daniel Ross on November 1, 2004 08:15 PMSometimes your posts are so short that I feel your feed is just an appetizer and you had more on the subject on the html page.
