Asa-

entirely unrelated to your post, i'm curious - why is it that your posts aren't syndicated on planet.mozilla.org? it's on feedhouse.mozillazine.org, but i get a feed from p.m.o through thunderbird and your stuff isn't syndicated, even though it probably should be... thanks!

Jason, the planet.mozila.org feed is reflected in the front page of www.mozilla.org and I explicitely requested removal from that feed because I don't want to limit what I post here to things that I think belong on the front page of www.mozilla.org

Neither do half of the posts that are already there belong on the mozilla.org homepage. Why does anyone who visits care what random developers are blogging about? There has to be some better system.

There's also some sort of comment tag (i forget who came up with it, i cant find the blog post about it right now) that you can add to blog posts that make it so that planet won't pick it up... that way when you blog about mars and stuff, you can tell it not to display those on mozilla.org...

maybe homepage headlines should be opt-in.. if a blogger thinks a post is important, then they can add the tag. wouldn't that be a better system?
