We're getting oh so close to shipping the first release candidates. We've taken a couple more last minute fixes and have a new round of builds that, if all goes well, will become the first release candidate tomorrow. You can get the Windows nightly build here and you can get the Linux nightly build here. Mac coming later.
update: We broke profile migration with one of our changes today. We'll be having at least one more round of builds.
Posted by asa at October 26, 2004 07:23 PMBeen testing out this latest build for a couple hours now. Incredible is all I can say, haven't found any bugs or anything nitpicky to write about. Once profile migration is fixed, there should be no reason this can't be a release candidate. I'm looking forward to the final product, I am having a blast with the latest version of Firefox!

Posted by: Carcarlo on October 27, 2004 01:15 AMWhat I think I like most about the most recent weeks of changes is the large number of top crasher fixes. These are truly a product from the great developers involved, as I know from own experience that these are often harder to nail down than regular bugs you can easily reproduce.
Posted by: Jugalator on October 27, 2004 04:37 AMFound a bug in preference window.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to Tools > Options
2. Select Advanced
3. Check/uncheck "force that open new window blah blah blah..."
4. Select General
5. Click OK
6. Go to Tools > Options
7. Select Advanced
Actual result:
Option unmained unchecked/checked.
Expected result:
Option should be checked/unchecked.
Should I file a bug in Bugzilla? ;-)
P.S. If I click OK without selecting other tabs like "General", the preference will be saved correctly.
Posted by: minghong on October 27, 2004 09:34 AMAh! I was using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0 (the one from the previous Asa post). I know it is not the most current nightly. Let's see if it helps after upgrading to the latest one. :-)
