I'm getting confused :-(
I think firefox.com should point to the Firefox products page (like getfirefox.com does) currently it redirects to spreadfirefox.com
The reason is if someone has just discovered Firefox they probably want to go download the thing first before they think about helping promote it.
Posted by: Dave on September 14, 2004 02:01 AMI think for the near future, Firefox.com will be what it is, a director site, so that both Firefox gets it's visitors looking for it at firefox.com, and people still looking for Kevin Karpenske's site can find it. Also, he did a great thing donating the domain he's had for years, and it's a worthy thank-you for him.
As for Getfirefox.com, that's a catchy and easy URL to send people do when trying to push Firefox, much better than "Mozilla dot org slash products slash firefox", and easier to say and remember.
SpreadFirefox.com is also for exactly what it sounds like, helped to spread the browser. It's a community-mobilizing site. And so far, it's very much on target. As of this comment, they're over 102,000 downloads, so they're over ten percent of the way there, with 10% of the time elapsed.
