Posted by asa at August 23, 2004 05:55 AMI suddenly realize why most Mars shots like these aren't that impressive to me - I practically grew up there. Mars looks just as desolate and bleak as home sweet home: the Mojave Desert in California.
Luke Skywalker's discussion of Tatooine comes to mind: "If there's a bright center to the galaxy, this is the planet it's farthest from..." (or something to that effect).
