update to the mozilla website style

The good folks of the Mozilla Visual Identity Team have been working to get us a shiny new look for the Firefox 1.0. The beta of the website's new look is up at website-beta.mozilla.org. Feel free to post feedback here or at the mozillazine thread.

The beta looks much better than the current version. The text is improved as well, although it could use some word smithing. (i.e. Mention extensions a little more prominently, maybe with adblock as an example. "Never see another ad with Adblock" or "control your music while browsing with FoxyTunes" etc.)

I sent mail to Blake Ross offering to help with the website, but never got a response.

Looking a little more closely, I can see the influence of a clean design. The text hasn't been changed at all. It still needs a rethink and a rewrite.

I just hope that Mozilla org is able to put as much work into the information architecture and language of the site as they are the looks of the site.

Hmm. Much much better over the other version. However, it kind of reminds me of the Maxthon. Maybe it's just that header part, but I guess a lot of sites share that same sort of header.

Anyway. Looks nice.

Personally, I don't like the proposed new style.. but I will live with it... I am not quite sure what it is about it that I don't like... but it just makes me go "bleh".

It is nice but it just does not have that spark. The site does not make me go "wow what is this I so want it." But then again I am twenty and as such may have a different taste then older people who I would imagine are a tougher sale.
