Go read the latest update on Firefox development from Ben Goodger.
Posted by asa at July 25, 2004 09:09 PMErr... I know versioning has always been bad maths, but 0.10? Come on.
Posted by: David House on July 26, 2004 03:49 AMDavid: Surely version numbers like 0.9.2 would have been enough to show that the version identifier isn't a floating point number, but rather a dot separated list of integers (possibly with some other qualifier on the end for release candidates, etc). Therefore, 0.9 < 0.10 < 0.11 < 1.0.

Skip the dot, bring version inflation to new levels and welcome Firefox 10! :-D

"please contact update.mozilla.org and get the maxVersion setting in the database increased to 0.10!."
How can you be sure that people delevoping these extentions will not use the new code to "develop" worms, trojans, virus' etc. to install at will.
thanks
