extension of the week

Via Redemption in a Blog, this extension, Google Preview, is one you've got to try. It looks like it uses Thumbshots to slot in a screenshot of the site next to the Google search results. It'll also pull the image from Amazon results if one exists and seems to do a pretty good job pulling stock graphs. Very nice extension. Good work

The site for Google Preview says "Search results that point to Amazon products are modified to fund the development of this extension." That's sketchy, but at least the author doesn't try to hide that feature from his readers or from Amazon.

I'd agree that it's sketchy if he hid the fact, but he's open enough with it that you'd know not to install the extension if you objected. It's a brilliant enough extension that I'm happy with it :)

I take that to mean that the links are changed to use the site's Amazon Associate ID, which won't cost the user anything though it may be against the Amazon Associate terms of service.

Nothing to do with this post, but.

Worth a look:

This is awesome! :-)

Also, don't forget to install GmailCompose:

Mailto: links will open the Gmail compose window. So convenient it's a must have plugin for all Gmail users!
