spell checking for firefox made almost easy

Go to SpellBound and install the extensions if you need spell checking in Firefox. I just did and so far it seems to be working. I spellchecked this post :)

I'm already running a spell checker with Firefox, though you'd never notice it from the posts I make here.

It's basically the same thing though I installed all the bits separately at different sites (had to be done with a zip installation of the fox) the instructions I used were here >> http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=88850&highlight=spell+checker

Spellbound looks a lot lot easier to get running tough.

Does anyone know if this extension works in Linux? I have been burned pretty badly lately by installing rogue extensions that I have to do start from scratch (including profile) installs to fix...so I'm wary to just install spellbound unless I'm sure it won't hose me. :) One of the files to install says 'for windows only', but the site also says you don't have to install all of them...I'm kind of confused.

Finally! Thanks :-)

I was looking for something like this for just a month or two ago and couldn't find a good solution. Seems like another hole in Firefox has been ... plugged :-) (no pun intended :-P)

"Does anyone know if this extension works in Linux?"

"It has been tested on both Windows and Linux."

So I would assume so at least. :-)

Tried it on my home system (Mandrake 10.0 Official) with Firefox 9.1 (Mandrake packaging), no luck. It looks like the spellchecker xpi package didn't take, although that's just a guess, I didn't get a chance to do detailed bugcheck work on it.
