1,000th post

I've just passed the 1,000 post mark at this old (not)blog. Now seems like a good time to poke my head up and ask you all what you're interested in reading here.

I've posted over 230,000 words in the last couple of years with about 100,000 words posted on Mozilla related topics, about 100,000 words on Mars related topics and about 30,000 words on various other subjects from birds to vacations.

I don't intend to limit my posting to any single topic and will continue to post about things that are, first and foremost, of interest to me. That being said, I realize that there are a non-triavial number of people spending at least some time reading what I have to say, so here's your chance to tell me what you like and don't like about this (not)blog.

No complaints; it's your weblog. :-)
I actually like the mix of mozilla and space exploration.

How about having category archives available as well as date based archives? This way those people who aren't interested in reading about NASA's space exploits can focus on things they're more interested in.

I think for your blog, you'd only need two categories to make this work:

a) Non-Space
b) Space

Keep up the good work! :)

Yes, categories could be a good thing: Space, Mozilla, and Everything Else. I've even seen sites that produce diffreren RSS feeds for the different categories, so folks only interested in the Mozilla stuff could filter out all that they do not want to know and hear about... ;-)

Whilst I have no interest in birds whatsoever and am only here for the Mozilla content, it is posts like those that show a more human face and let us know what sort of person you are.

Having said that Mozilla/Space/else does seem like a good idea - especially for feeds.

Congratulations on your 1000th post!

Although I haven't really been an astronomy person, I've found myself very interested after reading your posts about that Casini mission to Saturn thingy.

Although I admit that I, with haste, tend to skip over the posts that include long "notes" about NASA press briefings, this is YOUR blog and you should do whatever you want with it. And either way, your blog is set as one of my multiple tabbed homepages on my default browser. Haha.

I like it just the way it is, a nice mix. It's nice to see someone else being enthousiastic about the same topics that interest me.

I personally come just for the Mozilla content. Despite its strong community connections, Mozilla doesnt seem to have any formal way of letting us guys and gals who do the playing and breaking know what coming up and what to expect so we are reliant on the occasional blog postings of yourself and others to get interesting tidbits.. I make use of the mozillazine feed (feedhouse.mozillazine.org) to keep myself current.

I came for the mars coverage (especially the transcriptions of news conferences) but I still read the mozilla/firefox updates(you even got me to download firefox).

I also came for the Mars updates, got interested in Firefox and downloaded it. MUCH nicer than cludgy IE !

Hi Asa

I was wondering if you could tell us more about the Mozilla office and what kind of wacky stuff goes on there - any pics too.

cheers
