can't get enough of gmail

OK, they decided to give me some more Gmail invitations. Drop your full name and a working email address into the comments here and I'll select about 18 winners this evening. It's not going to be a drawing because I want to give some priority to people I know or at least recognize. Still, I think I've covered a lot of them so if you're one of those long time listeners, first time callers, you've probably got a shot this time.

update: OK, all gone. We'll see if they give me more.

I'm Stefan Eskelid and you can reach me @ d97se[at]efd.lth.se

Tanks!!!

Amazing there's not more takers yet.

The only reasoni'm notinterested is it's webmail , too much trouble for a lazy arse like me, i like my mail client.

Posted by: jasidog on June 23, 2004 07:25 AM

Hey, I'd like to give one as a gift if you have some left after the regulars taken care of. Thanks!

Posted by: Bo on June 23, 2004 07:35 AM

And once again, even if I don't win, thank you. :-)

Posted by: dolphinling on June 23, 2004 07:36 AM

Ok, perhaps I should register, before this happens to me: http://ars.userfriendly.org/cartoons/?id=20040623

:-)

Thanks, Thomas

I've read your site for about 6 months and have used Mozilla for yeeaarrrss. Doubt that counts, but hey.

Posted by: rbtgde on June 23, 2004 07:41 AM

If there are any left after the regular posters are taken care of, spare a thought for a regular lurker...

Posted by: David Rademeyer on June 23, 2004 07:43 AM

Well, i'm not a regular poster (in fact it's my first post here) but i read your blog regularly and if there are any accounts left...

would be great

Hi Asa, I'd really love a gmail account.

[shameless plug for my blog]

I have 7 Gmail invites, drop me a comment on my blog at:

First come first served !

Posted by: Seb on June 23, 2004 08:03 AM

I've been reading your blog fairly regularly for the last year, though I don't think I've ever commented before. Who needs NasaTV when there's you? I'm also a bug triager for mozilla. I'd be interestested in a gmail invite.

Sign me up

Posted by: Louis Zelus on June 23, 2004 08:09 AM

I wouldn't mind getting invited.

Posted by: Richard Boyer on June 23, 2004 08:11 AM

I'm one of those long time listeners, first time callers and would LOVE a Gmail account (proven by the fact I'm commenting and I never comment!).

Futhermore, my brother is Alex Bishop of MozillaZine fame. So unless you want to wake tomorrow and find your weblog deleted, you'd better give me an invite :-)

Thanks.

Posted by: Philip Bishop on June 23, 2004 08:21 AM

Hi there, I'm like all the other ones : I'd like a Gmail account bad.

Posted by: Vincent Noel on June 23, 2004 08:25 AM

They really are throwing those invites at you like there's no tomorrow aren't they?

Posted by: Michael Gall on June 23, 2004 08:31 AM

Hi Asa,

it would make me most happy to find out that today is my lucky day!

Thanks,
Chris

I haven't found much reason to post comments here, but it's always an interesting read.

Thanks, Asa

I've been reading for the last year or so, but only been posting recently to try and get a gmail invite!

Name: Lloyd Cotten (codeman from Mz)
email: slcotten (at) arincorp (dot) com

Would love a gmail account! Been reading your blog for over a year... most all content is very interesting. Will you be doing any more "Ask Asa's"? I've got questions I'd love to ask regarding Mozilla, but not sure where to ask.

Posted by: codeman on June 23, 2004 09:54 AM

Hi Asa,
long time lurker first time poster , well seccond actualy.

Stumbled accross your blog thanks to thoes mars rover briefing transcripts, and hung arround ever since.

you took some flack i remember for doing that but it brought the likes of me to the moz scene so thanks anyway

Anyway most greatfull should you bless me with an invite.....

Posted by: james rumkee on June 23, 2004 10:00 AM

Again, I'd love to get a Gmail invite...

and hey, you locked on to my "long time reader, first time caller" phrase that I pleaded with before, so that's gotta count for something! ;)

Posted by: Travis Hill on June 23, 2004 10:01 AM

yahoo mail and hotmail users dont forget to check your bulk mail folders for the invites

Been using mozilla as my default browser since 0.6 and have been reading this blog since you started it!

Just never post much...

Posted by: Trevor on June 23, 2004 10:15 AM

As a long time listener, I give a try ;)

Posted by: Pascal on June 23, 2004 10:17 AM

Long time listener, second time poster..

Posted by: Patrick Dunn on June 23, 2004 10:20 AM

I followed the mozilla development since milestone M12. Back then it was quite hard to get involved (also because of my age/lacking experience) so I contented myself with reporting bugs, watching the development and reading blogs. So I count myself to the "long time reader, first/second time callers" :)

Regards, Christoph

Thanks.

Posted by: Ara Anjargolian on June 23, 2004 10:56 AM

I'm sure the phrase has something to do with a hat and a ring...

Count me in!

Posted by: Dirk Mueller on June 23, 2004 11:42 AM

I'm going to advance the fact that we were born on exactly the same day as excuse enough for an invite ;) Being 30 sucks doeesn't it?

Posted by: James Bishop on June 23, 2004 12:08 PM

oh please... ;)

Posted by: ostrut on June 23, 2004 12:43 PM

I would like a gmail invite, too. I have been reporting bugs and reading your weblog for some time now.
I've built mozilla several times and donated the builds but there was never a reply to my mails to ftpstage, and the builds didn't show up on the ftp site :-)
So if you would mind to send me an invite, this would be a great motivation to carry on

Posted by: Chi-Thanh on June 23, 2004 01:10 PM

Love to have one too - Long time listner - occassional poster - major fan ;)

Posted by: Helvick on June 23, 2004 01:32 PM

Hey! I'm your chance at a first timer! ;-)

I would like to get in on GMail too.

I have really enjoyed watching the browser project progress. Like many people, I am not a coder and so watch its progress.

Long time reader, first time poster!

Please Gmail me

Posted by: Futoshi Nishimura on June 23, 2004 01:46 PM

So if I post a comment for each Gmail drawing, I'll qualify sooner or later. I am probably Mozillas biggest fan, I have all their records. If you get me a Gmail account, I will tattoo a picture of Brendan Eich on my face.

Posted by: Wired Earp on June 23, 2004 01:56 PM

It's worth a try.

I think 1Go (oops I meant 1GiB) would be great to keep up with all the bugmail...

Posted by: Bernard Alleysson on June 23, 2004 02:49 PM

gmail is short for Grovel mail, 'cos that's what u have to do to get an account ;-)

Posted by: Julian on June 23, 2004 03:08 PM

Seems like there are still lots of applicants for the 18 invites, but I'll throw my name in anyway. I have commented once or twice before, and I've done a little bug triage and QA as well. (some of it as cwhitt@ieee.org)

Thanks,
Christopher

Posted by: Christopher Whitt on June 23, 2004 03:51 PM

Never posted before, but definitely a long term reader. This blog is the first I read every day as well! Okay, so "adot's netblog" is going to appear at the top of an alphabetical list, but it's worth mentioning to maximize my sucking up to get a gmail account...

Email address is of course paulmorrison @ iafrica.com

Well, I'll try my luck with this text

Great Site. I read because of the space stuff. The Mozilla stuff is good too.

Posted by: Leanthony on June 23, 2004 06:05 PM

Well, it looks like someone else I know has just sent me a gmail invite, so you can remove my name from the list of possible candidates in this comment.
