Metropolis: This RC really is a candidate for release - if no really horrible new bugs are found in it, they plan to release it as 1.7 final (according to Asa's newsgroup post yesterday)

However, I've just noticed that the RC3 notes are based on the original RC2 notes, and so the changes that I made (and the Java note you added) have gone.

Why do I have reinstall all my moz extensions (like GoogleBar) or my search engines (in Firefox) everytime I update the browsers? Shouldn't the extensions be installed in a separate folder (like Application Support in OS X) so they're are retained with successive versions of Mozilla and Firefox?
