blogoversary

I missed it. A week ago was my 2 year blogoversary. Wow.

This post is my 912th blog entry and I've written about 225,000 words at adot's notblog* over the last two years. Thanks for reading.

Are you a blogger? How long have you been doing it? How frequently do you post and how lengthy are your posts?

I'm a blogger. I've been blogging since July 2001, three years and nine months. Thinking about it... That's quite a while. I have two months where I did not post at all or just had one post.

Recently I moved over to Movable Type and have been enjoying it since. Posting is a lot easier. So is archive management. Before I did everything by hand. I think when I first started blogging I didn't know what it was called.

I post daily now with not extremely long posts, my latest post looks to be about 250 words. However I do post longer and shorter ones irregulary, so, it varies.

I've made sure all my pages validate XHTML 1.1 and the CSS is valid. I'm using SmartyPants and Markdown as MT plugins and even have my own blogger code. And geek code. Those are on my about page.

I've made 52 entries since my move about a month ago, not sure how many words total.

I've theoretically had a weblog since... *looks it up* ...December 2002, but only really started using it in November 2003 to post reports and lots of pretty pictures of my travels. Average length of a post is 25000 characters (that's what? 4000 words or thereabouts? I'm at ~95,000 words total in any case), which kinda explains why there's usually only one a week (or less).
Wrote the weblog system myself from scratch to nicely integrate with my message board (also written myself from scratch) - yeah, I'm a sucker for pain. :)

Constant online presence since 99. But my "blog" just celebrated the 1 year aniversary. 300 something entries.

varied length, and frequency.

My blog started on October 29, 2002, so that's about 540 days ago. During that time, I've posted 381 times (and 25 blogmarks).

Been blogging for 2 years and 3 months now (started January 2002), first on Blogger but then on Movable Type, which I'm still using now. In that time I've had 1738 entries, plus 574 on my sideblog which I've been running for nearly 6 months.

I'm. :)

My first entry was on 19 May last year.
I didn't poke into mysql right away, from my Nucleus's admin interface my blog roughly has 216 entries.

So I'm using Nucleus. Before that I'm using a build-from-scratch diary system (yes, not a blog). Someday later if I can ever get my own server I'm looking forward to have a blogger which can use Nucleus's directly, or at most which little conversions, but in Java. (Maybe again a DIY? :P)

I don't blog everyday as I'm lazy... just blog when stuff floats up in my mind. I blog about my distorted mind, the political happenings at my place (I'm in HK), my friends, Java, and sometimes (D)HTML, music, and random photos when I go out.

Been bloggint since 2002, but I moderated mailing lists starting in 1982, so does that count?

Right now I have my own blog (The Eternal Golden Braid), and co-edit two others (Martian Soil and Lunar Soil).

Frequency: At least once daily, usually several times daily between the three. Lengths vary greatly. My longest post was on my personal experiences on 9/11. Most postings are shorter, and usually a link to an article about one of the subjects I'm personally interested in.

I've been blogging since April 9th, 2002, so that makes it a little over two years now. The blog is totally home-grown code, but I have made use of MT's standalone Trackback tool. I usually post at least once a day, I think my personal record is 8 in a single day. I have no idea how many words are in the average post, so I will guess at 125, although some are substantially longer.

I have been blogging in the sense of the word since May 2003 but I have published a onine diary since 2000.

I try to post every day but when there is nothing to post I won't try to find anything =)
I don't write an essay in every posting but I try to write something more than "check out this site mf" or so. I use my blog as a medium for informing my family and friends in things that's going on around me in school and stuff so mum don't have to call every other day and ask =)

Started in August of 1997, before the terms 'weblog' or 'blog' were invented.

Once they were invented, they seemed to describe the reverse-choronogically ordered pages we were creating at the time. ;)

Yea, well, you know my bloggin habits, Asa. My original blog is covered in dust (like Mars' rocks), I've possibly only slightly better with the family news blog (initially meant to save just a little time on emailing or calling some folks we rarely see). I finally found one way to go -- as a (marginally) contributing editor at testpattern (occasional ranting catharsis without the neglect guilt). Frankly, I usually just get out my bloggin ya-yas vicariously...thanks to you.
