I think we're done with Firebird 0.6.1. If you've got time and bandwidth to help us test these builds before we put them in the hands of hundreds of thousands of eager 0.6 users, the latest (and hopefully final) candidate builds for Windows and for Linux are waiting for you.
The only changes in these builds should be the application icon update and, depending on which of the last 0.6.1 builds you got, the updated version strings and the removal of auto-scroll.

Now, any word on availability of OS X nightlies and getting Blake to take a look at those OS X bugs he's been assigned?
Posted by: Warren TenBrook on July 27, 2003 10:02 PMI'm already using it :) Amazing work, I loved seeing the mouse-scroll feature added. The menus look better and are faster now.
I blogged about it in my brazilian blog (http://www.jonasgalvez.com/br/blog) saying that it was the final 0.6.1 hehe... Just corrected after seeing this post.
Keep up the good work!
Posted by: Jonas Galvez on July 27, 2003 10:54 PMLooks good on Windows 2000, though About Mozilla Firebird says 0.6 even though the version string says 0.6.1
Posted by: Yusuf on July 27, 2003 11:33 PMThanks a ton for removing autoscroll. To me, it was more annoying than the autocomplete crasher. Firebird 0.6.1 is going to rock!
Thanks again.
Posted by: vfwlkr on July 28, 2003 12:34 AMWill we see Bug 195598 fixed and Java 1.4.2 working in final 0.6.1 ?
Posted by: Alex on July 28, 2003 12:49 AMI just installed NewsMonster 1.2 beta on the Linux build of 0.6.1 and it installed just fine.
This is a fairly good test since NewsMonster really pushes Mozilla to the limits.
The funny thing is that 1.5a *doesn't* work with NewsMonster but Firebird 0.6.1 does. Hm...

Posted by: Kevin Burton on July 28, 2003 02:34 AMfb 0.6.1 really feels faster than 0.6 at rendering the pages. i'm on win2k. good job :)
Posted by: lamer on July 28, 2003 09:01 AMMy only question is whether the skinVer is going to get bumped for 0.6.1. I don't think they should be. Save that for nightlies and 0.7.
Posted by: alanjstr on July 28, 2003 03:24 PMHmm, I tend to disagree with Alan, I think the skin version should DEFINITALLY jump up to 1.5.
It's going to be a pain trying to maintain two different versions of all the skins, one for 0.6 and 0.6.1 and another for all the people who are on, or will be on nightlies.
We should make the jump now (even if the code doesn't require it, just like TB 0.1 doesn't) that way authors can push new themes versions and not worry about 0.6 (which is way outdated anyway).
Cheers
